 The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is a limited-production, mid-engine V12 supercar introduced in 2021 as part of Ferrari’s Icona Series, with deliveries beginning in 2023. Inspired by Ferrari’s legendary prototypes from the 1960s, particularly the 330 P4, the Daytona SP3 blends classic racing aesthetics with cutting-edge technology.


Origins & Development

Ferrari created the Icona Series to celebrate its rich motorsport heritage by reinterpreting classic designs with modern engineering. The Daytona SP3 pays tribute to Ferrari’s 1-2-3 victory at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona, where the 330 P3/4, 330 P4, and 412P secured a historic win against Ford’s GT40s.

Design & Aerodynamics

Designed by Flavio Manzoni, the Daytona SP3 features:

  1. A low, wide stance with dramatic sculpting inspired by classic Ferrari endurance racers.
  2. A wraparound windshield and flowing bodywork reminiscent of 1960s sports prototypes.
  3. Horizontal rear slats, a signature design element that echoes the Ferrari 330 P4.
  4. A focus on passive aerodynamics, making it Ferrari’s most aerodynamically efficient car without active aero.

Performance & Powertrain

At the heart of the Daytona SP3 is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, derived from the Ferrari 812 Competizione but enhanced for greater performance:

  1. 829 hp (618 kW) @ 9,250 rpm
  2. 697 Nm (514 lb-ft) of torque @ 7,250 rpm
  3. 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.85 seconds
  4. 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 7.4 seconds
  5. Top speed: Over 340 km/h (211 mph)

It’s paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering rear-wheel drive for an engaging driving experience.

Chassis & Driving Dynamics

  1. Built on a monocoque chassis made entirely of carbon fiber, derived from Ferrari’s Formula 1 technology.
  2. Features Ferrari’s Side Slip Control (SSC 6.1) for enhanced handling.

Production & Rarity

Only 599 units of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 were produced, with each priced at around €2 million ($2.25 million). All were sold out before production began, exclusively offered to Ferrari’s top clients.
